Job Summary
Obsidian Solutions Group is seeking dependable Production Assembly Technicians to assemble small products and subassemblies using established work instructions and basic hand tools.
This is a straightforward, trainable production position. Prior manufacturing, electronics, or drone experience is not required. Technicians will primarily perform mechanical assembly but may also be trained to complete routine production tests, final inspections, labeling, and packing for shipment.
Daily assignments may change based on production needs.
Requirements Responsibilities- Assemble products and subassemblies by following written and visual work instructions.
- Install fasteners, brackets, clips, wiring, electronic components, and other supplied hardware.
- Use basic hand tools, powered screwdrivers, torque tools, fixtures, and production equipment.
- Apply adhesives, thread locker, labels, or other materials as instructed.
- Verify that components are installed correctly and that assemblies are complete.
- Record completed work and sign production travelers or other required documentation.
- Keep components, tools, and work areas organized.
- Identify damaged, missing, or incorrect parts and notify a supervisor.
- Move completed assemblies to the next production area.
- Assist with kitting, material handling, and other production tasks as needed.
Technicians may be trained to perform routine production testing and inspection, including:
- Conducting visual and workmanship inspections.
- Connecting assemblies to designated test equipment or computer interfaces.
- Following step-by-step test procedures.
- Verifying basic electrical or mechanical operation.
- Recording pass/fail results and required test information.
- Labeling and separating units that do not pass testing.
- Reporting test failures to a supervisor or designated technical employee.
This position is not responsible for engineering analysis, advanced troubleshooting, or flight testing.
Packing and Shipping SupportTechnicians may also support packing and shipment preparation by:
- Completing a final check for required parts, labels, and documentation.
- Placing finished assemblies into protective bags or packaging.
- Applying product, serial-number, lot, and shipping labels.
- Packing completed units into shipping cartons according to established instructions.
- Sealing, counting, and staging cartons for shipment.
- Assisting with pallet preparation, stretch wrapping, and shipment staging.
- Maintaining accurate counts of packed and completed units.
- No degree, certification, or previous manufacturing experience required.
- Ability to follow written, visual, and verbal instructions.
- Willingness to learn basic assembly, testing, inspection, and packing procedures.
- Ability to use small hand tools or learn their proper use.
- Basic computer skills or willingness to learn simple production and test software.
- Dependable attendance and ability to arrive on time for scheduled shifts.
- Attention to detail and ability to complete the same process consistently.
- Ability to work cooperatively with supervisors and other production employees.
- U.S. citizenship required due to access to export-controlled and defense-related products and technical information.
- Previous experience in assembly, manufacturing, warehousing, packing, automotive work, construction, maintenance, or another hands-on position.
- Personal experience using hand tools, building electronics, repairing equipment, assembling models, or working on similar projects.
- Familiarity with basic inspection tools, multimeters, barcode scanners, or production paperwork.
- Ability to work while sitting or standing for extended periods.
- Ability to perform repeated hand and arm movements.
- Ability to handle small parts and fasteners.
- Ability to lift and move materials or cartons weighing up to approximately 35 pounds.
- Ability to wear required personal protective equipment.
