JOB TITLE: Part Time – Seasonal Park Maintenance I employee
HOURLY RATE: $15/Hour DOE
The City of Fredericksburg is seeking a dedicated individual to join our team as a Part Time – Seasonal Park Maintenance I employee. If you enjoy working outdoors and contributing to the beautification of our community, we want to hear from you!
Key Responsibilities- Perform general semi-skilled laboring tasks in grounds keeping for parks and public facilities
- Mow grass, landscape, and carry out custodial duties
- Operate a variety of hand and power equipment
- Deliver and set up equipment for various City events and programs
- Complete work order and daily report paperwork
- Assist with storm debris clean-up operations as needed
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Valid Virginia Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Strong communication skills to interact effectively with co‑workers, supervisory staff, and customers
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including holidays, weekends, some evenings, and fluctuating shifts based on park needs and scheduled events
- Criminal background and driving record checks are required
- Contribute to the enhancement of our community parks and public spaces
- Gain valuable experience in park maintenance and event support
- Work in a dynamic environment with a supportive team
