Primary
Purpose:
Perform general maintenance and repair of building structures and their mechanical, electrical, and sanitary systems throughout district. Assist with maintenance of grounds.
Qualifications:Education/Certification:
Clear and valid Texas driver’s license
Special Knowledge/
Skills:
Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
Knowledge of basic construction and routine maintenance and repair procedures
Ability to communicate effectively (verbally)
Ability to operate hand and power tools
Ability to work independently
Experience:
1 year experience in general building maintenance

Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:Reading, ability to understand verbal instructions
Maintain emotional control under stress.
Tools/Equipment Used:Small hand tools, power tools, garden tools and measuring tools; light truck or van
Physical Demands:Strenuous walking, standing, and/or climbing, grasping/squeezing, wrist flexion/extension and overhead reaching. Heavy lifting and carrying (45 pounds and over) on a daily basis.
Work outside and inside; exposure to hot and cold temperatures; exposure to dust, toxic chemicals (proper safety equipment must be worn according to label) and materials, noise, vibration, electrical hazards, slippery and uneven walking surfaces and work on ladder.
May work alone, regularly work irregular hours and occasional prolonged hours.

Work days: 238
FISD pays $365.00 per month towards TRS Health Insurance
You can earn up to five local leave and five sick leave days each year.
