Skillforce is seeking experienced Carpenters for a long-term commercial project in the Fredericksburg, VA area. This position requires strong attention to detail, physical stamina, and the ability to work safely with a variety of power tools and equipment. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of three years of carpentry experience and be willing to assist with general labor tasks as needed to support the team.

In this role, your skills will contribute to building durable, functional, and visually appealing spaces that meet client expectations and industry standards.

Pay Range: $24-$27/HR (DOE)

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Proven experience as a carpenter or in a similar role within the construction industry.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings accurately.
  • Proficiency in using hand and power tools safely and effectively.
  • Physical capability to perform heavy lifting and work in various environmental conditions.
  • Strong understanding of carpentry techniques, materials, and safety standards.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Completion of a formal apprenticeship or carpentry training program.
  • Experience with finish carpentry and detailed woodworking.
  • Familiarity with renovation and remodeling projects.
  • Certification in OSHA safety standards or equivalent safety training.
  • Basic knowledge of other construction trades to facilitate teamwork.
Responsibilities:
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine project requirements.
  • Measure, cut, shape, and assemble wood and other materials using hand and power tools.
  • Install structures and fixtures such as windows, doors, cabinets, and molding with precision.
  • Perform finish carpentry tasks to ensure smooth, polished, and professional results.
  • Collaborate with other construction professionals to complete projects on time and within budget.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment by following safety protocols and proper tool handling.
  • Assist in renovation and remodeling projects, adapting to changing plans and client needs.
  • Lift and carry heavy materials and equipment as required by the job.
