Lead Technician – Security & Low Voltage Systems
Childress Solutions/Veterans Choice is hiring an experienced Lead Technician for commercial and industrial projects throughout Fredericksburg and Northern Virginia.
This is a hands‑on field leadership role. The Lead Technician will lead crews while assisting with installation, programming, troubleshooting, and service of access control, CCTV/IP video, intrusion alarms, fiber, low‑voltage cabling, and related security systems.
Responsibilities- Lead and train field technicians
- Install and service access control, CCTV, intrusion, fiber, and low‑voltage systems
- Pull, terminate, test, and label cabling
- Install cameras, card readers, door hardware, panels, NVRs, and alarm devices
- Program, test, and troubleshoot systems
- Coordinate jobsite tasks and maintain quality, safety, and documentation
- Communicate with project managers, contractors, and clients
- Relevant security/low-voltage experience is required
- Experience with access control, CCTV/IP video, and intrusion systems
- Ability to program and troubleshoot systems, not just install hardware
- Strong understanding of low-voltage wiring and structured cabling
- Experience leading crews preferred
- Valid driver’s license required
- Fiber installation and testing
- Platforms such as Lenel, Genetec, Avigilon, Brivo, Open Path, Verkada, Honeywell, Bosch, or DSC
- A/V systems experience is a plus

Field-based role serving Fredericksburg and Northern Virginia. Team members typically report to the Fredericksburg or Sterling, VA office before traveling to job sites.
