Fredericksburg Field House is a premier indoor sports and recreation facility serving the Fredericksburg region. We offer a wide variety of fitness, wellness, and athletic programs for all ages and abilities. We are looking for passionate, professional, and motivating Yoga Instructors to join our team and help our community achieve balance, strength, and mindfulness. The Fredericksburg Field House has a dedicated studio environment for classes.
The Yoga Instructor will lead safe, engaging, and effective yoga classes for participants of varying skill levels. Instructors should create an inclusive and motivating environment that encourages personal growth, mindfulness, and physical well-being.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Plan and instruct dynamic yoga classes (e.g., Vinyasa, Hatha, Gentle, Power, etc.) suitable for beginner to advanced participants.
- Deliver proper alignment, breathing techniques, and modifications for all levels and abilities.
- Maintain a welcoming and professional environment in the studio space.
- Ensure participant safety by following facility protocols and proper instruction techniques.
- Build positive relationships with members, encouraging continued participation and class retention.
- Arrive early to set up, greet participants, and manage post-class cleanup.
- Represent the Fredericksburg Field House values of health, community, and integrity.
- Must be 18 years or older.
- 200-hour Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT 200) certification from a Yoga Alliance–accredited program (required).
- Current CPR/AED certification (or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire).
- Previous group fitness or yoga teaching experience (minimum 6 months preferred).
- Excellent communication, motivational, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to adapt instruction for participants with varying experience levels and physical needs.
- Knowledge of basic anatomy, injury prevention, and safe movement principles.
- Must pass a background check as required by Virginia law for fitness facility employees.
- 500-hour RYT certification or specialty certifications (e.g., Yin, Restorative, Prenatal Yoga).
- Experience teaching in community centers, fitness clubs, or recreation facilities.
- Familiarity with fitness class scheduling and management.
