RECREATION COORDINATOR

PART-TIME

STARTING HOURLY RATE: $21.14

Position Overview: The City of Fredericksburg is seeking a dedicated and experienced Recreation Coordinator to join our team. This position plays a crucial role in the planning, organizing, and implementation of recreational activities for Pre-K, Youth, and Adults. This position will operate under the supervision of the Recreation Supervisor and assists them with programming. Work involves planning and prepping for community programs, gathering supplies, promote programs, and improve program quality through evaluation.

• Create & implement high-quality community programs, camps, and classes
• Preschool Programs:
  Indoor Play Park, Arts & Crafts, Log Cabin Storytime, etc
• Youth Programs:
  Camps, After-school activities, birding hikes, etc
• Adult Programs:
  Painting, Puzzlooza, Escape Room, etc
• Other programs and events as needed
• Understand and utilize recreational management software for promotion and scheduling of programs
• Support outdoor field trips, birthday parties, retreats, etc
• Records and tracks expenses, attendance, and participant feedback
• Work flexible hours, typically outside of those of direct supervision

• Any combination of training, education, and experience equivalent to graduation from an accredited college or university with Bachelor's Degree in Recreation, Leisure Services, Facility Management, Public Administration, Education, or a related field
• Minimum 3 years of experience in professional recreation work, including programming and coordinating recreational activities
