Senior Accountant at Research and Productivity Council

Join the Research and Productivity Council in Fredericton as a Senior Accountant, enhancing financial operations and reporting accuracy. This full-time role focuses on detail, compliance, and process improvement.

As a Senior Accountant, you will report to the Accounting Manager, managing general ledger activities, and leading month-end and year-end close processes. You will also oversee day-to-day operations including accounts payable and receivable, ensuring proper revenue and expense recognition. Your insights will be crucial for supporting management decision-making and improving accounting practices.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage general ledger activities and journal entries

• Lead timely month-end and year-end close processes

• Oversee daily accounting operations including AP and AR

• Prepare monthly financial statements and management reports

• Analyze financial results and identify variances

Requirements:

• Degree or diploma in Accounting or Finance

• 3–5+ years of progressive accounting experience

• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices

• Experience with ERP systems like Business Central or SAP

• Knowledge of Public Sector Accounting Standards is a plus
