Position: Full-Time Staff Accountant

The Research and Productivity Council is hiring a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to support our finance team in Fredericton. This position provides opportunities to gain hands-on experience in general accounting, payroll processing, and financial reporting. You'll work closely with senior finance staff and play a vital role in maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring timely transaction processing.

Key Responsibilities:

• Record journal entries and maintain general ledger accounts

• Prepare and reconcile bank statements and balance sheet accounts

• Process bi-weekly payroll runs with accuracy

• Ensure compliance with internal controls and regulations

• Support accounts receivable functions and monitor outstanding balances

Requirements:

• Degree or diploma in Accounting or Finance

• Experience with ERP systems like Business Central

• Payroll training is an asset

• Understanding of accounting principles

• Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
