FUNDAMENTAL OBJECTIVE
The primary objective of the Project Manager (PM) is to deliver projects on time and on budget, with a focus on exceptional client satisfaction, quality, safety, and value-added services.
GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITYThe Project Manager is accountable to the Construction Manager/Branch Manager and is responsible for managing and overseeing all activities related to the planning through to completion of a project including estimating, scheduling, resourcing, contract preparation and negotiation, submittal and material procurement, and management of client needs and expectations.
The PM oversees overseeing and directing the project by communicating directly with client, consultants, sub-contractors and internal resources regarding project status reports and work to ensure the execution of the project adheres to the contract plans and specifications.
NATURE AND SCOPEThe Project Manager receives general supervision from the Construction Manager/Branch Manager. The PM relies on project management as well as construction and petroleum experience, business acumen and reliable judgment to execute goals.
The PM interacts effectively with customers, sub- contractors, suppliers and Phoenix team members including Estimators, Site Supervisors, and other PMs. They can work well independently as well as collaborate successfully to carry out PM responsibilities.
SPECIFICACCOUNTABILITIES
- Develop the project scope of work requirements, cost estimates, project plan based on predefined customer strategy and budget
- Define activities, sequences of events, dependencies and duration of tasks
- Plan and coordinate all aspects of the project, including hiring contractors and working with engineers, architects and vendors
- Control the time, cost and quality of projects, determine the scheduling of different phases based on established deadlines and day-today project management
- Negotiate contracts with vendors, contractors and other workers
- Prepare schedules and forecasts
- Secure building permits, licenses, utility locates, and delivery of materials and equipment to project site
- Address project issues
- Manages day-to-day operational aspects of a project address project issues
- Communicate and enforce company safety standards and operating practices
- Represent the client’s best interest with a value-added approach
- Develop short- and long-term goals both personally and for project staff
- Post-project reviews with the intention of identifying best practices and cost breakdown
- Complete required client safety training
