The scope of this position is twofold:
Create and manage all aspects of our weekly Kids and Youth Community programs.
Complete a community analysis for strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats (SWOT) to fill any needed gaps in community programming for kids and youth.
QUALIFICATIONSDemonstrates a commitment to growing in Christ.
Agreement with the statements of faith, vision and values of Bethany Community Church.
Compassion for children and teens and a strong desire to serve them.
Experience in serving children and students.
A current vulnerable sector police background check.
ACCOUNTABILITYThe Kids + Youth Program Leader will be directly accountable to the Pastor of Family Life.
MAIN DUTIES ANDKEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Working in conjunction with and under the supervision of the Pastor of Family Life, this position is for 40 hours per week and will include:
Take the lead in the planning, promotion, implementation, and evaluation of our weekly summer program for kids, youth and their families. This includes Children and Youth programs, and a community program. Based on the SWOT analysis, expected programs could be:
Programs to help newcomers who are children and youth integrate into Canada
Children and Youth programs to help parents out during summer school break
Programs directly focused on helping youth who have left high school to get trained and invested in their community
Community Mental Health programs specifically geared towards youth and children with disabilities and mental health struggles
Ensure all Public Health guidelines and best practices are adhered to
Create an inclusive space for kids and teens to feel a sense of belonging, safety and well-being
Provide direct care for students and children
Manage a team of volunteers
Process and track kids and youth registration and attendance for follow-up care
Create and manage feedback loops to ensure program goals and outcomes are being met
TERMS36 hours per week, duration of 11 weeks
* starting June 29, 2026. Paid hourly wage.
