Compassionate Primary Teacher at Alternative Provision

GSL Education seeks a compassionate Primary Teacher for a specialist setting in York, starting in April 2026. This full-time role involves teaching Year 5/6 pupils with diverse educational needs in a supportive environment.

Join a well-established Alternative Provision that prioritizes emotional and academic learning. Your focus will be on delivering adaptive lessons for six students with varied learning abilities. Collaborating with an experienced TA, you’ll create a positive classroom climate where strong relationships and emotional regulation are key components of learning.

Key Responsibilities:

• Implement engaging lessons tailored to student needs

• Support academic and emotional development of pupils

• Work effectively with a dedicated teaching assistant

• Foster a calming, structured classroom atmosphere

• Commitment to positive behavior and emotional support

Requirements:

• Must be a qualified Primary Teacher (QTS)

• Experience in SEN settings is desirable

• Knowledge of SEMH, ASC, and learning challenges essential

• Effective collaboration with support staff required

• Patience and positivity in teaching approach
