New Brunswick Community College (NBCC) is looking for passionate, skilled Instructors to deliver Workplace Essential Skills (WES) training to adult learners in communities across the province. This is a great opportunity for educators committed to making a meaningful impact. Flexible hours ranging from 4 to 36.25 hours per week are available, and positions exist across New Brunswick in Moncton, Saint John, Fredericton, Woodstock, Miramichi, and St.
Andrews.
Responsibilities
Under the direction of the Business Development Manager, the instructor will primarily deliver and facilitate the classroom component of the Workplace Essential Skills (WES) program for unemployed or underemployed individuals. Training may be offered face‑to‑face or online. The core competencies to be taught include:
Reading
Writing
Numeracy
Problem solving
Communication
Adaptability
Collaboration
Creativity and Innovation
Digital Literacy
Qualifications
A Diploma or Degree in a related discipline with relevant experience.
Knowledge of the WES methodology, competency task‑based learning, and inclusive approaches to training.
Familiarity with employability skills, essential skills, and workplace‑based training.
Experience teaching unemployed or underemployed individuals.
Knowledge of adult learning principles.
Excellent interpersonal and written & oral communication skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Strong public speaking and presentation skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Group and individual facilitation skills.
Ability to coordinate team‑based activities.
Flexibility to manage multiple tasks and adapt to changing conditions.
Skill in needs analysis, problem solving, and making recommendations.
Strong judgment, initiative, and decision‑making across a wide range of issues.
Critical‑thinking, creative, independent, and flexible approach.
Proficiency in English, French, or bilingual.
Preference for candidates with post‑secondary teaching experience.

Competitive hourly rate of $33.85 to $52.08 based on post‑secondary education level.
