Cover Supervisor in Secondary Schools

GSL Education is recruiting Cover Supervisors for secondary schools in York. This flexible, immediate start role is ideal for those passionate about maintaining classroom learning during teacher absences.

As a Cover Supervisor, you will be instrumental in supervising daily classroom activities and ensuring that students remain engaged while completing their assignments. Your support will help create a positive learning atmosphere, and you’ll provide feedback to teachers to improve lesson quality. Successful candidates will need to demonstrate strong behavior management and communication skills while fostering an educational environment conducive to learning.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee classes in the absence of teachers

• Maintain a disciplined and positive learning environment

• Support pupils in their coursework completion

• Give feedback to teaching staff post-lessons

Requirements:

• Degree or relevant educational background required

• Strong communication and management skills essential

• Confidence in classroom handling necessary

• Genuine interest in education and teaching

• DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply
