Position Overview

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Curriculum Design, we are hiring a Curriculum Design Specialist for an 18‑month maternity leave contract starting July 2026. As a Curriculum Design Specialist you will develop and renew academic programs, instructional and assessment practices, and learning materials. You will collaborate with subject matter experts and faculty to support the design and development of face‑to‑face, online, and blended curricula across a growing suite of programs.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate – Work with subject matter experts and faculty to understand the goals of new and existing academic programs and translate those goals into comprehensive curricula, including learning outcomes, assessments, and content.
  • Develop – Integrate innovative and effective instructional strategies and resources into curriculum design to enhance student engagement and achievement.
  • Evaluate – Review curricular needs and recommend instructional and assessment strategies that meet regulatory requirements, align with program and course learning outcomes, and model accessible, authentic, and culturally responsive pedagogies.
  • Continuously improve – Stay current with educational research, pedagogical trends, and advancements in curriculum design; share relevant insights with the team and analyze existing curricula and data to recommend improvements.
  • Communicate and influence – Track and report on the progress of curriculum development and renewal projects, identify and communicate risks, build relationships with faculty and stakeholders, and guide projects forward while managing competing priorities.
Qualifications
  • The experience – Bachelor’s degree and experience in curriculum design, instructional design, learning and development, education, quality assurance, or a related field. A Master’s degree is an asset. Experience in post‑secondary education is an asset but not required.
  • The project management skills – Highly organized, able to manage multiple priorities, establish project plans, coordinate stakeholders, and deliver quality work on schedule.
  • The interpersonal skills – Exceptional oral and written communication; ability to build trusting relationships with diverse stakeholders and engage program leadership, subject matter experts, and faculty.
  • The technical skills – Proficient with the MS Office suite, including Teams; comfortable analyzing, aggregating, and interpreting data; able to create presentations and use AI tools responsibly.
  • The curriculum and instructional design expertise – In‑depth knowledge of curriculum development principles, constructive alignment, educational standards, instructional design models, and provincial, federal, and international accessibility standards such as AODA and WCAG; strong understanding of pedagogical theories, teaching methodologies, and assessment practices.

Compensation Philosophy

We offer a minimum annual salary of $62,500, a midpoint of $68,500, and a maximum of $73,500. Salary depends on skills, experience, and role complexity. We strive for equitable and consistent pay.
