We are seeking a Junior Environmental Consultant to join our Atmospheric Sciences practice in Fredericton, NB. In this role, you will primarily support our stack emissions testing team, traveling to industrial facilities across Atlantic Canada to conduct emissions testing in accordance with regulatory guidelines and approved test methods. You will also assist with related data analysis and technical reporting. Direct experience is not required.

We are seeking an individual with a diverse mix of field-based and desktop experience who is a quick learner and a strong problem solver. If you bring solid hands-on skills along with technical writing and analytical abilities, we will provide training on the technical aspects of the role.

As part of this role, you will collaborate with a team of highly experienced air quality scientists, engineers, and technical specialists, contributing to the delivery of high-quality consulting services for clients across Atlantic Canada and beyond.

This position is well suited to a motivated, organized, and technically inclined individual with strong analytical, written, and verbal communication skills who is eager to build a career in environmental consulting. The role offers a fast-paced, hands-on environment with opportunities to learn, develop technical expertise, and work on projects throughout Atlantic Canada and beyond. A willingness to travel is essential.

In addition to emissions testing, there will be opportunities to support a variety of other environmental field services as needed, including acoustic, aquatic, archaeological, and remediation field surveys, as well as desktop-based work such as data analysis and report preparation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with the coordination and execution of stack emissions testing at industrial facilities and/or laboratory testing in a safe, professional, and organized manner. This work may involve travel to sites across Atlantic Canada, typically with a small team, for assignments ranging from single-day visits to multi-week campaigns.
  • Support the preparation of health and safety plans, work plans, and other technical documentation.
  • Perform equipment setup, maintenance, and troubleshooting in the field.
  • Prepare sampling apparatus, work with chemical reagents and conduct basic lab analysis Prepare detailed field notes and contribute to the development of technical reports summarizing work completed.
  • Compile, analyze, and interpret analytical data, including the preparation of tables, figures, and graphs.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, colleagues, and contractors.
  • Work collaboratively as part of a team and be comfortable working on multiple projects.
Qualifications Your Capabilities and Credentials
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, and Microsoft 365 applications).
  • Possession of a valid Class 5 driver’s licence and willingness to learn how to tow trailers for field assignments.
  • Ability to take initiative and multi-task effectively in a fast-paced environment, while maintaining a strong focus on health and safety.
  • Comfort working at heights, including on elevated platforms and rooftops.
  • Willingness and physical ability to perform hands-on field work, including equipment setup at industrial sites and frequent stair and ladder use.
  • Ability to perform basic electrical and mechanical tasks, including working with small pumps, fuses, and light wiring.
  • Demonstrated commitment to a strong safety culture. Valid safety certifications such as First Aid, Fall Protection Awareness, H2S Alive, or similar are considered an asset. Safety training will be provided to the…
