As a Geotechnical and Materials Technician, you will have the opportunity to work on a variety of geotechnical and construction projects in a multi‑discipline project team environment. Working in our Saint John or Fredericton, New Brunswick office, you will work closely with an experienced team of engineers and technicians to become part of our dynamic team, primarily performing materials testing services.

Key Responsibilities
- Construction Quality Control/Quality assurance testing (Concrete, Soils, Asphalt).
- Fill placement and compaction monitoring.
- Fresh and hardened concrete monitoring and testing.
- Assisting in resolution of technical issues on construction sites.
- Other general field related duties.
- Regularly complete detailed field reports.
- Support team operations and play an integral part in the promotion of our health and safety culture, client relations, equipment and resources maintenance and management, and other related duties.
We are looking for an energetic team player who enjoys working with a team of engineering staff in providing superior service to our valued clients in Atlantic Canada. The successful candidate will possess the following qualifications:
- Effective communication skills (computer, written, oral).
- Ability to work under minimal supervision.
- Initiative and ability to multi‑task in a fast‑paced environment.
- Valid Driver’s license, access to their own personal vehicle and willingness to provide a driver’s abstract for review.
- Ability to travel as this position may require traveling throughout the province. Willingness to travel outside the province would be an asset.
- Ability to carry out moderate lifting.
- Diploma in Civil Engineering technology or related field.
- Previous work experience in geotechnical investigations, materials testing and construction is not necessary but is considered an asset.
- CCIL certification for concrete, aggregates and/or asphalt would be considered an asset.
Field work may involve traversing difficult terrain and include exposure to the elements including inclement weather. Other work will be carried out in a typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time.
