Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of New Brunswick. Full-time 1 year term, hybrid location in Fredericton. Salary range $59,102 - $76,838 per annum.
Responsibilities- Investigate and develop target trajectory estimation and interception for missile defence problem.
- Research state of the art, develop prototype applications and evaluate performance in simulated missile defence environments.
- Develop and implement mathematical and computational models of physical or engineering systems using Python, Num Py, Sci Py, Pandas, Tensor Flow, PyTorch.
- Model high-fidelity vehicle dynamics and control systems for hypersonic glide vehicles and embedded test platforms.
- Simulate results with real-time systems and custom PCBs using FreeRTOS and C for sensor and actuator control.
- Collaborate with other engineers, scientists and researchers to integrate models, share data and contribute to larger projects.
- Research and develop AI guidance and control laws for hypersonic vehicles.
- Present findings, prepare reports and potentially publish research in academic or industry forums.
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering or scientific discipline.
- Ability to meet EIT requirements with APEGNB.
- Strong proficiency in Python for scientific computing, data analysis and machine learning or deep learning applications.
- Experience with Python GUI development, sensor integration (UART, SPI, I2C), trajectory processing and encrypted communication (AES‑256).
- Experience implementing data smoothing, real‑time feedback loops and autonomous sensor communication systems.
- Understanding of specific domain being modeled (aerospace, automotive, robotics, controls).
- Applied knowledge of guidance, navigation and control (GNC) system modeling in aerospace applications.
