Why Join Litens
Join the Litens Purchasing team as a Production Buyer. The role is responsible for determining costs for quotations and engineering changes, and acts as a commercial interface with suppliers, including cost reduction efforts.
What you will do:
- Ensure that component drawings contain all necessary information for quoting (material specification, finish specification, and weights listed in the drawing)
- Generate RFQs and review supplier quotes
- Analyze supplier cost breakdowns and identify gaps or opportunities
- Compare quotations to previous revisions and understand cost variances
- Negotiate tooling and piece price with suppliers, including future cost reduction commitments (LTAs)
- Identify drawing exceptions requested by suppliers in their quote responses and communicate with engineering for their review and approval
- Actively participate in APQP cross‑functional meetings as required
- Recommend suppliers for sourcing of new products based on Total Cost of Ownership (TCO), and obtain consensus from the Sourcing Board Meeting when required
- Conduct quoting and sourcing process utilizing PF (Global Litens RFQ software)
- Issue purchase orders and price updates in the system
- Execute global RFQs and negotiations for assigned commodities to leverage Litens purchased volume
- Respond to Engineering change requests (ECOs) and Customer request for quotes (CRQs) in a timely manner
- Support Technical cost reductions and VAVE initiatives
- Evaluate price increase requests, and negotiate with suppliers to avoid or minimize the cost impact for Litens
- Facilitate the “Supplier Request for Change” process (SRC)
- Work with MC communicating lot quantities and/or purchasing agreements that affect component releases
What you will bring:
- College diploma or university degree in business or related field
- Minimum 5 years estimating and purchasing experience in the automotive industry
- General knowledge of machining, aluminum die casting, plastic injection moulding, metal stamping, powder metal, material control, MRP system
- Must understand engineered component drawings typical of current automotive industry standards
Additional Information:
- Compensation: $75,000 to $95,000 annually
