Job Summary
At CBCL Limited, we are a successful, dynamic, growing engineering and environmental consulting firm. We have an exciting opportunity for a Structural Bridge Drafting Technologist to join our Bridge design team based in either St. John’s, NL, Halifax, Nova Scotia, or Fredericton, New Brunswick.

Key Responsibilities

Help Shape the Future of

Infrastructure: Contribute your expertise to the design and detailing of both new and rehabilitated bridge structures.

Craft with Precision:
Develop detailed structural engineering documents for steel, concrete, masonry, and timber bridges using AutoCAD. Your meticulous attention to detail will ensure that our designs meet the highest standards of quality and accuracy.

Innovate and Collaborate:
Partner with engineers and multidisciplinary teams to refine design concepts, perform structural calculations, and ensure the accuracy of tender documents. Your contributions will be key to driving projects forward.

Explore On-Site:
Assist structural engineers in field investigations, gathering essential data for design purposes, conducting bridge condition assessments, and overseeing construction inspections. Your fieldwork will directly inform our design processes.

Support Excellence:
Contribute to the development of bridge inspection reports, project specifications, and proposals. Your attention to detail will help ensure our documentation is thorough and precise.

Stay Ahead of the Curve:
Maintain and enhance your proficiency in bridge engineering drafting software, including AutoCAD, Autodesk Civil 3D, and Infraworks. Staying updated on industry standards and specifications will keep you at the forefront of bridge design.

Other Duties

Write bridge inspection reports.

Provide support in the development of reports, project specifications and proposals.

Create and vet spreadsheets and new workflow tools to help facilitate the team’s work.

Required Credentials

Educational Background: A diploma in Civil Engineering Technology or a related field is required (equivalent combination of education and experience will also be considered).

Experience:

A minimum of three years of experience in structural drafting, with a strong understanding of structural engineering drawings.

Technical Expertise:
Proficiency in AutoCAD, with the ability to create and edit detailed structural designs. Familiarity with Autodesk Civil 3D and Infraworks is a plus.

Competitive salary: $55,000 - $75,000 annually, depending on experience.

The salary range listed for this position represents the expected hiring range; actual starting compensation will vary based on factors such as professional experience, technical expertise, credentials, and alignment with the role's requirements, as well as internal compensation structures and market data.
