Intermediate Mechanical Design Engineer – Mechanical Building Systems

Responsibilities

• Prepare drawings, specifications, cost estimates and reports for mechanical design projects
• Design HVAC systems, plumbing, fire protection, controls systems, and specialized piping systems (natural gas, fuel oil)
• Perform mechanical calculations for ductwork, piping, and equipment sizing
• Develop equipment schedules and coordinate with project teams to ensure accurate design
• Conduct energy modeling for LEED, Green Globes, and Green Buildings Initiatives
• Complete facility condition assessments, feasibility studies, and design briefs
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and respond to internal/external project inquiries

• Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) licensed with APEGNB/Engineers NS or eligible for registration
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering with 7+ years of experience as Engineer of record in building and industrial design
• Strong knowledge of Canadian Building Code, ASHRAE, CSA, and NFPA standards
• Proficiency in Revit/BIM;
  AutoCAD experience is an asset
• Familiarity with spec writing, HAP, and energy modeling tools
• Excellent communication skills and ability to manage multiple projects
• Proficient in Microsoft Office; knowledge of AI tools is an asset
