We are currently seeking a Junior Mechanical/Piping Designer to join the Integrated Design team. The successful candidate will work on a variety of projects within the Energy and Resource sector, ranging from studies to detail engineering across North America and internationally.
Responsibilities
Apply design skills to prepare or coordinate contract drawings, sketches, and concept designs through to construction.
Collaborate with Mechanical group members, other Stantec disciplines and clients to achieve project success.
Successfully carry out assignments on project design teams.
Prepare P& flow diagrams.
Effectively communicate with other team members in the department or project team.
Create drawings using AutoCAD, Plant3D, Cadworx, Inventor, Solid Works, Revit, AvevaE3D, Micro Station, and other relevant tools.
Model and design piping and mechanical systems in 3D.
Collect and verify data in client facilities.
Prepare isometric drawings.
Represent field and interpret drawings.
Qualifications
At least 1–3 years of experience in the industrial consulting industry.
Bilingual in French and English is an asset.
Strong collaborative skills while working with single or multi‑discipline teams.
Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Strong organizational and time‑management skills.
Understanding of Stantec’s Employee Health and Safety (EH&S) program with a focus on safety in the field.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Windows, Word, Excel, Access) is an asset.
Ability to work in an environment of constantly changing technology and project assignments.
Education & Experience
Technical degree, diploma, certificate or equivalent in a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
At least 1–3 years of experience.
Pay Range
Locations in Lower Mainland – BC, GTA & Ottawa, Ontario: $53,100.00 – $71,700.00 annually.
