Position Summary
The Parts Advisor is responsible for supporting customers and service technicians by identifying, sourcing, and supplying parts and accessories. This role plays a key part in maintaining inventory accuracy, delivering exceptional customer service, and ensuring efficient day-to-day operations within the parts department.
Key Responsibilities- Assist customers (in-person, phone, and email) with parts inquiries, pricing, and availability
- Identify and source parts using catalogs, vendor systems, and internal software
- Process parts sales transactions and maintain accurate records
- Support Service Technicians by supplying required parts in a timely manner
- Manage inventory including receiving, stocking, restocking, and cycle counts
- Monitor inventory levels and place orders to maintain appropriate stock while minimizing obsolescence
- Communicate with vendors regarding pricing, availability, and order issues
- Evaluate pricing and verify invoices for accuracy
- Pick, pack, and ship parts orders, including local deliveries as required
- Provide technical guidance on parts selection, installation, and alternatives when needed
- Resolve customer concerns related to parts availability, pricing, or quality
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Operate equipment such as forklifts as required
- Contribute to continuous improvement of processes and department efficiency
- Previous experience in a Parts, Inventory, or Customer Service role (equipment industry preferred)
- Knowledge of agricultural, construction, or heavy equipment parts considered an asset
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
- Experience with inventory systems, POS systems, and computer-based parts lookup tools
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Valid driver’s license required
- Forklift certification and/or Pesticide Applicator License considered assets
- Customer-focused with a strong attention to detail
- Organized with effective time management skills
- Adaptable and able to work both independently and within a team
- Reliable with a strong work ethic
- Ability to lift and handle parts as required
