Then we have a position for you! PURPLEFARM is one of Canada’s premier craft cannabis producers. Coming from the legacy market, PURPLEFARM currently operates a 12,000 sq ft facility out of Johnstown, Ontario and has expanded into Fredericton, New Brunswick to operate a 90,000 sq ft facility.
As a Cultivation Technician, you’ll support the day-to-day care of our plants while ensuring all tasks are carried out in alignment with Good Production Practices (GPP) and regulatory standards. Reporting to the Master Grower and working under the supervision of the Senior Cultivation Technician, you’ll play a hands‑on role in maintaining plant health, supporting facility operations, and upholding the quality PURPLEFARM is known for.
Key Responsibilities Cultivation & Production- Execute daily cultivation tasks including:
cloning, transplanting, topping, defoliation, flushing, irrigation/fertigation, trimming, packaging, and waste disposal
. - Operate and maintain irrigation platforms (e.g.,
Dosatron
). - Follow nutrient regimens and assist with plant production protocol development.
- Adhere to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and support overall production efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with Health Canada regulations
, GPP, and internal SOPs. - Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitized work environment.
- Promote a safety‑first culture by reporting issues related to product integrity, sanitation, or security.
- Support basic troubleshooting and maintenance of critical systems (e.g.,
HVAC, irrigation, water treatment
). - Assist with emergency maintenance requests and document actions taken.
- Help identify risks to product quality and suggest corrective actions.
- Contribute to light facility maintenance tasks such as painting, carpentry, or plumbing support.
- Participate in improvement initiatives around safety, workflow, and plant care.
- Support inspections, audits, and preparation of documentation.
- Follow security protocols and report any product loss or breaches.
- Assist during Health Canada inspections and help maintain audit‑readiness.
- Perform additional responsibilities as assigned by the Master Grower or Senior Cultivation Technician.
- High school diploma or equivalent (post‑secondary education in horticulture or plant science is an asset).
- Prior experience in cannabis cultivation, horticulture, or greenhouse work is preferred.
- Familiarity with GPP, SOPs, and facility compliance standards.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to lift, bend, and perform physical tasks for extended periods.
- Basic technical skills related to irrigation and HVAC systems are a plus
. - Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
- Type: Full‑time, on‑site
- Schedule: Overtime required during peak cultivation cycles
- Reporting: Reports to the Master Grower
