Fredericton Veterinary Walk-In & Urgent Care is a part of the Galaxy Vets family, which is a new employee-centric healthcare system with a mission to give veterinary medicine back to veterinary professionals.

We are hiring an experienced Veterinary Assistant who wants to practice at the top of their ability in a fast-paced urgent care environment.

Each shift, you are 1 of 2 support staff working directly alongside the DVM

• Stay one step ahead and one step behind of your medical peers
• Support urgent patient care; assisting in procedures and basic animal handling/care
• Deliver exceptional client communication
• Take ownership of hospital flow and efficiency

You will be supported to reach the highest potential within your role and beyond; we are building a team of high performers proud of their accomplishments.

• Minimum 1 year veterinary assistant experience (required)
• Confident animal handling in a fast-paced setting
• Strong communication and critical thinking skills
• Someone who takes initiative instead of waiting to be told what to do
• A person who wants to help build a sustainable, community-focused veterinary business
• Evening/weekend/holiday availability required (we believe in fair rotation)
• Ability to lift 50 lbs and work in a clinical environment, including bending, standing, stooping, kneeling, moving from room to room, and sitting; may be required to walk or stand for extended periods of time

• $18–$22/hour (based on experience, and involvement with the bigger picture)
