Research Scientist in Wood Products Development

Become a key player in research at the University of New Brunswick as a Research Scientist focused on wood products. This full-time role is based at the Fredericton campus and requires a doctoral degree and extensive research experience.
In this position, you will lead innovative research projects and contribute to the growth of wood science knowledge at the Wood Science and Technology Centre. Your responsibilities will also include writing research proposals, conducting high-quality projects, and promoting Centre services through industry engagement. Mentorship of graduate and undergraduate students will enrich their academic experiences.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead research projects in wood science and engineering

• Engage with industry stakeholders at conferences

• Develop research proposals aligned with strategic goals

• Mentor students in their thesis research

• Prepare and review scientific documentation
Requirements:

• Ph.D. in wood science or engineering

• At least five years of R&D experience

• Proficient in using Matlab, Abaqus, and statistical analysis

• Strong capability in scientific communication

• Ability to independently manage research tasks
