Retail Attendant - Deployment support

Overview

Canadian Forces Morale and Welfare Services (CFMWS) supports Canadian Armed Forces members, veterans and their families with programs and services that enhance mental, social, physical, financial and familial well‑being.

Deployed Retail Attendant – six month contract overseas in Latvia. The role supports CAF & partner nations by providing retail and food services while enhancing morale and welfare.

• Deliver outstanding customer service in a retail store environment.
• Prepare and serve Tim Hortons beverages to CAF and partner nation personnel.
• Handle cash and card transactions in accordance with company policy.
• Organize store displays, stock shelves and maintain inventory.
• Assist with recreational activities and events to promote morale.
• Operate and maintain retail/food service equipment, ensuring product quality meets established standards.
• Maintain a physically active presence – restocking, standing throughout the shift and walking to storage areas.

• Valid driver’s licence (Province) and Canadian citizenship with a valid passport.
• Experience in cash handling and point‑of‑sale system operations.
• Experience in preparing and serving menu items to portion and presentation standards.
• Experience operating and maintaining retail/food service equipment.
• Ability to walk, lift and move heavy items.
• Good communication, client focus, organisational knowledge, innovation, teamwork and leadership.
• Completion of a health, dental and psychosocial assessment; security screening.
• Standard First Aid with CPR/AED Level C or willingness to obtain upon hire.

• English Essential.
• Functional oral, no reading or writing requirement.
• Bilingual Essential candidates will be considered for all positions.

• Contract:
  
  6‑month deployment, maximum 56 hours per week.
• Location:
  
  Latvia.
• Deployment start dates may be within the next 2 years.

• Tax‑free monthly allowance (up to $1,756).
