Do you want to work on the cutting edge of cybersecurity research for the protection of Canada’s critical infrastructure? If you answered yes, then this may be the job for you!
Our Fredericton location is looking for a Cyber Security Student to assist with Disruptive, Innovative, and Emerging Technologies (DIET) development work and the Small Modular Reactor (SMR)/Micro Modular Reactor (MMR) Defensive Cyber Security Architecture (DCSA) demonstration.
All students applying for student positions at CNL must be returning to full-time studies upon completion of their work term. Exceptions will be made for students who require a work term to graduate.

Field of Study:
Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, or applied technology programs related to these disciplines.
Year of study: 1st Year or Higher
- Assisting with Disruptive, Innovative, and Emerging Technologies (DIET) development work.
- Assisting with Small Modular Reactor (SMR) and Micro Modular Reactor (MMR) Defensive Cyber Security Architecture (DCSA) demonstration development work.
- Supporting development activities within the Cyber Resiliency Branch.
- Other duties as assigned by your manager.
- Education
- Currently enrolled at an academic institution of good standing in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, or applied technology programs related to these disciplines.
- Experience
- Previous cybersecurity experience, particularly in a research setting, is an asset.
- Experience with industrial control systems is an asset.
- Experience with artificial intelligence and large language models is an asset.
- Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Demonstrated systematic problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work well in a team environment with a strong safety and security culture.
- Demonstrated ability to carry out research or independent study and propose practical solutions that address real-world constraints.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Security Clearance Eligibility Required
- Reliability Status with Site Access Security Clearance (SASC), which has a minimum requirement of 3-5 years of verifiable history in Canada, Australia, New Zealand, the United States and/or the United Kingdom. CNL implements security screening in accordance with the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat's “Standard on Security Screening” and the “Policy on Government Security.”
- Working schedule:
Five (5) days per week, seven and a half (7.5) hours per day for a thirty-seven and a half (37.5) hour work week.
