Reporting directly to the Director and Assistant Director, you will conduct investigations under Nova Scotia and New Brunswick Police Acts. The Indigenous Liaison Officer is crucial in supporting affected persons and fostering relationships with Indigenous communities. You will be responsible for facilitating liaisons and coordinating outreach to enhance transparency and support during investigations.
Key Responsibilities:
• Determine resources and methodology for investigations
• Support Indigenous communities through strong relationship-building
• Coordinate community liaison programs with selected representatives
• Navigate investigations with affected persons and families
• Develop outreach plans to raise awareness of SiRT
Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree and over five years of experience
• Knowledge of criminal investigation techniques
• Understanding of Indigenous cultures and challenges
• Experience in community engagement and outreach
• Valid driver’s license and background clearance
Support Indigenous communities and shape the investigative process at SiRT in Nova Scotia.
