Youth Support Worker

Position: Youth Support Worker at Wolastoqiyik Family Services
Wolastoqiyik Family Services is seeking a dedicated Youth Support Worker to promote positive life choices and community connections among youth. This role involves fostering growth while addressing emotional and behavioral challenges in a therapeutic environment.

In this full-time or part-time position, you will support youth in developing realistic goals and action plans. Your understanding of First Nation cultural values will guide the strategies you use to improve clients' social and emotional well-being. Through empathy and professional communication, you will help youth navigate their challenges and crises effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

• Foster growth and positive life choices for youth

• Maintain a therapeutic emotional climate

• Assist youth in setting attainable goals

• Address mental health and behavioral issues through counseling

• Make quick decisions in crisis situations

Requirements:

• Degree or Diplomain Human Services or related field

• Experience with youth facing various challenges

• Valid driver's license and background checks

• Training in First Aid and crisis intervention is an asset

• Youth Support experience preferred

Contribute to the empowerment of youth within First Nation communities through meaningful support and guidance.
