Overview
Duration: 12+ Months (Extension Possible). We are looking for an experienced Programmer Analyst with strong hands‑on experience in CA Gen application development, PL/SQL programming, Java application support, and enterprise healthcare systems. This role focuses on maintaining and enhancing the Client Service Delivery System (CSDS), supporting healthcare operations for Mental Health, Addictions, and Public Health services within the New Brunswick Department of Health.
Must‑HaveSkills & Experience
- 8+ years of application programming and analysis experience
- 3+ years of experience with CA Gen 8.5 or higher
- Strong experience with PL/SQL packages, SQL queries, views, stored procedures, and triggers
- Experience maintaining and supporting Java applications
- Strong experience with Oracle and SQL Server databases
- Experience with unit, functional, and regression testing
- Experience with UNIX/Linux environments
- Experience with SSRS reporting
- Experience with Java/C++ and Struts Framework
- Experience with technical design, coding, debugging, implementation, and production support
- Strong understanding of secure application development and coding standards
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English

- Perform unit, functional, and regression testing
- Participate in system analysis, design, development, integration, and implementation activities
- Troubleshoot application issues and implement fixes/enhancements
- Create and maintain technical documentation and test cases
- Support application performance improvements and secure coding practices
- Collaborate with project teams, business users, and technical stakeholders
- Experience supporting public sector healthcare applications
- Experience with incident, release, and change management processes
- Experience with healthcare case management systems
- Experience working in Canadian provincial healthcare environments
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
- Excellent communication and stakeholder collaboration
- Ability to work in fast‑paced support and development environments
- Strong documentation and troubleshooting abilities
- Team‑oriented with ability to work independently when required
