JobPurpose & Responsibilities
The City of Cold Lake is seeking a qualified individual to fill the casual position of Adaptive Transit Driver with the Community Services Department. The incumbent will be responsible for:
- Operating the Adaptive Transit bus in a safe and efficient manner;
- Working within tight deadlines to ensure clients arrive to their scheduled destinations in a timely manner;
- Scheduling, picking up, and delivering clients to scheduled appointments;
- Collecting fees and statistical information;
- Ensuring general maintenance and cleanliness of the bus;
- Reporting all major maintenance and repairs to appropriate City department.
- High School Diploma or Equivalent;
- Class 1, 2, or 4 Alberta Driver’s License with a Clean Driver’s Abstract is required;
- A minimum of two years of experience in customer service roles;
- A strong understanding of, and/or experience dealing with clients with special needs, demonstrating patience, and a keen interest in assisting others;
- Must know basic vehicle basic procedures;
- Standard First Aid, CPR Certification, and Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Check are required.
The preferred candidate will be available for day, evening, and weekend shifts; hours of work will vary and be on an as needed basis.
The hourly wage for this position is $23.10
This position is within the scope of AUPE Local 118/016, and as such you will be required to adhere to articles contained within the Collective Agreement.
