Position OverviewWe are seeking a Freelance Guest Pastor to lead worship services on an as‑needed basis. This role is ideal for ordained clergy, candidates for ministry, or retired pastors who feel called to occasional preaching, teaching, and worship leadership. This is a flexible position; you may pick a Sunday that works for your schedule!
Responsibilities- Prepare and deliver a biblically grounded, engaging sermon.
- Lead Sunday worship service liturgy, including prayers, scripture reading, and communion (when applicable).
- Coordinate with church staff and volunteers (music director, liturgist, elders) to ensure a smooth service.
- Provide a pastoral presence before and after the service, engaging warmly with congregants.
- Ordination or candidate for ministry in the Presbyterian Church (USA) or a compatible Reformed tradition (preferred).
- Strong preaching, communication, and worship leadership skills.
- A commitment to Presbyterian theology, values, and worship practices.
- Warm, approachable interpersonal style.
- Prior congregational leadership experience (a plus).
Services are held on Sunday mornings at 10:00 AM.
Scheduling is flexible and arranged in advance based on mutual availability.
Competitive honorarium provided per service; rate discussed during the interview process.
