Physical Therapy Aide – Health Plus Management
Location:
Howell Township, NJ. Salary: $15.00–$17.00 per hour. Posted: 2 weeks ago.
The therapy aide serves patients by escorting them into the therapy gym. They greet and welcome patients appropriately, direct them to the proper therapy area, and notify the respective therapist of their arrival. The therapy aide also prepares the treatment area and equipment necessary for patient care under the direction of the therapist.
Essential Duties- Safeguards and assists patients performing exercises and functional activities under the direction of Physical / Occupational Therapist and Physical Therapy Assistants.
- Transports patients to and from treatment areas.
- Prepares hot packs, cold packs, and ice packs for use by the Physical/ Occupational Therapist or Physical Therapy Assistant.
- Secures patients into or onto therapy equipment.
- Cleans and organizes work area and disinfect equipment after treatment.
- Maintains equipment and furniture to keep it in good working condition, including performing the assembly and disassembly of equipment and accessories.
- Changes linens after each patient.
- Arranges treatment supplies to keep them in order.
- Performs clerical duties such as taking inventory, ordering supplies and filling out forms.
- Supports front desk staff and covers for receptionist as needed.
- Performs other duties as requested/directed.

- Continually participates in building and maintaining positive working relationships through effective communication, performance improvement and teamwork efforts.
- Demonstrates the ability to clearly and effectively communicate (verbal and written) to all patients, family members, visitors and other staff member with the expectation that each employee within the context of their specific job duties can read, interpret, understand and communicate clearly and effectively.
- Demonstrates, maintains and upholds expectations set forth in the organizational Code of Conduct and Compliance Program.
- Responsible for timely completion of all new hire, departmental and yearly compliance training on an ongoing basis.
- Responsible for timely and accurate completion of timesheets/time records for hours worked and payroll processing. Time records must be completed and approved by employee no later than close of business on the last day of each pay period.
- Actively participates in the safety programs of the organization by identifying potential risks and promoting patient safety as well as environmental safety.
