Medical Laboratory Technician – Regional Cancer Care Associates (RCCA)

Compensation: $30.22 – $40.80 per hour

• Performs specimen analysis for all testing done in house for moderate and high complexity laboratory tests.
• Acts as working technical lead of day to day operations for the main laboratory.
• Assists lab manager with supervision of activities of laboratory personnel, including Medical Technologists, MLTs and Phlebotomists.
• Assists Lab Manager with billing reports as needed, delegating duties, ensuring the report is complete by 10 AM daily.
• Completes end of month QC reporting, maintenance of lab records, ensures all data is reported to pertinent IQAP programs.
• Creates work schedule and monitors for absences and coverage as necessary.

• Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology required.

• Minimum four years of experience in laboratory testing and experience using a wide array of laboratory instrumentation and maintenance.
• Knowledge of COLA and CLIA regulations required.

Physical demands include full range of body motion including manual and finger dexterity and eye‑hand coordination in operation and manipulation of complex laboratory equipment. Requires sitting and standing for extensive periods of time with the use of hands and arms to reach or carry. Occasionally lifts and carries items weighing up to 40 lbs. Requires corrected vision, color perception, and hearing to normal range.

Requires legible handwriting.

Work is performed in an office environment and requires significant interaction with management, staff and external auditors and clients. Work will require frequent travel by air or automobile, approximately 70 % of workweek, on average.
