Medical Director of Psychiatry at Centra State Medical Center
Atlantic Health System, New Jersey's largest non‑profit healthcare network, is seeking a board‑certified Psychiatrist to serve as Medical Director for a 19‑bed adult inpatient psychiatric unit in Freehold, NJ.
The role includes leadership of inpatient care, consult & liaison psychiatry, crisis intervention, addiction psychiatry, and electroconvulsive therapy (preferred). The Medical Director will also spearhead quality improvement initiatives, oversee scheduling of behavioral health clinicians, and coordinate with community resources.
Responsibilities- Oversee the 19-bed adult inpatient unit serving patients 18+ with co‑occurring substance use disorders, special needs, and autism spectrum disorder.
- Provide consult and liaison psychiatry, crisis intervention, and addiction psychiatry services.
- Lead quality improvement initiatives and coordinate scheduling of behavioral health clinicians.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and external stakeholders to advance Centra State's mission and strategic priorities.
- Board‑certified in Psychiatry (BE/BC).
- 3–5 years of relevant clinical experience.
- 2–3 years of proven leadership experience.
- Experience with electroconvulsive therapy preferred.
Salary Range: $325,000–$375,000 base salary only; excludes any quality and/or productivity incentives.
