Overview

Our client, a full service law firm in Freehold, NJ, is seeking an Attorney to join its distinguished and expansive collection practice. The firm's Community Association Law Group is one of the largest and most experienced in the state, complementing its renowned Construction Defect Litigation Department. The ideal candidate will have proven experience with Condominium Association law.

Salary: $80,000 - $130,000 per year, dependent on experience.

Base pay range: $85,000 - $130,000 per year.

This is a Direct Hire and Full-Time Opportunity.

Responsibilities
  • Provide general counsel to Community and Condominium Associations, Homeowner’s Associations, and Cooperatives.
  • Expose and enforce governing documents to ensure compliance and sustainable daily operations. Prepare amendments and resolutions to governing documents clarifying rights given to Unit owners.
  • Negotiate and prepare contracts regarding Association construction, maintenance, and repair projects.
  • Handle all collection matters on behalf of Associations in Superior Court, Law Division and Special Civil Part, including post judgment collections, foreclosure, and bankruptcy matters.
  • Participate in commercial litigation, including the filing of complex motions, oral argument and various other court hearings and proceedings.
  • Represent landlords in all aspects of the eviction process, including filing of the complaint, trial, and execution of warrants.
  • Handle all residential real estate transactions on behalf of Associations.
Qualifications
  • 5 years in corporate transactional work, including significant experience in community association law and collections.
  • Proficiency in handling all aspects of collections, ranging from individual debtors to large corporate clients.
  • Previous judicial clerkship experience preferred.
  • Ability to thrive in both independent and collaborative settings within a fast-paced team environment.
