Position: Registered Nurse - Allergy (Full Time)

Job Summary: Full‑time Registered Nurse – Allergy at our Freehold Allergy Office. The RN‑Allergy will provide a high level of general care, vial mixing, administering allergy shots, and educating patients to promote the goal of the Ultimate Patient Experience. Allergy experience strongly preferred, but not required.

Schedule: Full time, 30+ hours. Availability Monday through Friday with rotating Saturdays within operating hours of 7:00 am – 7:30 pm. Open flexibility to help cover in a team environment is needed.

Registered Nurse – Allergy
  • Promote a professional and welcoming atmosphere to enhance the quality of service and care.
  • Provide general care and education to patients in accordance with OSHA regulations.
    • Administer prescribed testing (including skin prick testing and intradermal testing), medications and treatments.
    • Maintain immunotherapy room with necessary supplies and materials; ensure cleanliness.
    • Administer allergy shots and ensure provider is on site.
    • Observe, record and report patients’ vitals and reactions to treatments.
    • Assess patients’ needs and suggest solutions to patient care problems.
    • Supervise triaging of patient communications (through email and/or portal).
    • Maintain accurate patient records, document all visits in EMR.
    • Ensure patient stays for required observation time after injections.
    • Learn and perform immunotherapy vial mixing procedures and proper documentation in accordance with current regulations.
    • React appropriately in patient reaction situations, inform physician and/or other clinical staff as necessary to mitigate adverse reactions.
  • Assist provider in recording prescribed treatments, medications, lab requisitions, prescriptions, prior authorization (including biologics), obtaining consents, and procedures within established guidelines.
  • Understand provider‑to‑patient flow and anticipate provider’s next steps to the best of your ability.
  • Demonstrate clinical competence and sound knowledge base in provision of quality patient care.
  • Ensure allergy test sets and emergency kits are filled, current, and up to date.
  • Confirm that insurance benefits have been verified prior to preparation of allergy serums.
  • Serve as a role model and consultant to staff.
  • Regularly interact with physicians and other providers and staff to identify and resolve problems.
  • Maintain knowledge of trends and developments in the field by reading appropriate articles, journals, and related materials; attend seminars and conferences as needed.
  • Report improperly operating medical equipment and instruments to supervisor.
  • Perform inventory responsibilities, including but not limited to ordering and stocking of supplies and equipment as requested.
  • Attend all in‑house training and continued education opportunities.
  • Other duties as assigned by the supervisor on an as‑needed basis.
