Solo Pastor

Solo Pastor Position The Pastor of Grace Fellowship Church will be a devoted shepherd who understands, embraces, and cultivates true Christian community. Grounded in a vibrant, personal relationship with Jesus Christ, he will heartily receive and adopt the Westminster Confession of Faith, Catechisms, and PCA Book of Church Order. As an effective preacher and leader, his expository teaching will consistently point believers to their absolute need for God.

As an collaborative leader, he will work closely with our Session and volunteers. Through his administrative skills, biblical order is maintained and systems established that ensure the congregation is well cared for. His ministry will focus on equipping the saints by helping members develop their spiritual gifts and apply faith to their daily lives. Through his ministry, the church body will develop relationships in the community with the desire to spread the Gospel and add to the Church.

Priorities:

Worship leadership:
The pastor works with the Session to create a rich worship life, educating the congregation for meaningful participation. The pastor creates a structured Sunday morning order that moves the body towards an attitude of worship.

Proclamation of the word:
High priority is placed on sermon preparation. The word of God is preached with urgency and conviction, applying it to the changing needs of the Church body.

Spiritual development of members:
The pastor is invested in the lives of the congregation, and counsels members on spiritual development

Discipleship training:
The pastor helps members develop their spiritual gifts and apply faith to the daily lives

Teaching responsibility:
The pastor accepts an active teaching role; teaching the scriptures, theological concepts, and how to apply our historical faith to the current culture; and provides instruction for Church officers and educational leaders.

Congregational and denominational responsibility:
Value is placed on balance between local church and Presbytery responsibilities. The congregation and session know and are involved in the work of the denomination.

Outreach:
The pastor has a desire to reach our community, save the lost, and create an atmosphere at Grace Fellowship Church that fosters reaching the unchurched.
