Skilled - Maintenance Technician

Position Title: Maintenance Technician

Salary: $49,920-$66,560 per year

Shift: 3rd

Hours: 11:00pm-7:30am (Tues-Sat)

QPS Employment Group has a great Maintenance Technician position available at a company in Freeport, IL. This is a 3rd shift, direct hire position.

• Perform routine maintenance and inspections on industrial machinery and equipment.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues.
• Repair or replace defective components using hand and power tools.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and equipment performance.
• Collaborate with other team members to ensure smooth operations and minimal disruptions.
• Adhere to safety protocols and company policies at all times.

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or associate degree in a related field is a plus.
• Proven experience in industrial maintenance, with knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.
• Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and equipment.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Experience with PLC programming and troubleshooting preferred.
• Familiarity with powered industrial trucks (PIT) or forklifts preferred.
• Welding and fabrication experience preferred.
• Standing and walking 100% of the time.
• High school diploma/GED.
• Completion of a craft apprenticeship, or an equivalent number of years of education and production maintenance experience preferred.
• 2-4 years of manufacturing maintenance experience. Strong mechanical, pneumatic, fabrication and industrial skills preferred.
