Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (Nursery)

FHN is seeking a skilled Nurse Practitioner to join our Level II Nursery team. In this role, you will partner with our pediatricians and nursing staff to provide comprehensive care for newborns. This position offers a unique opportunity to practice at the top of your license in a hospital setting, ensuring that every baby born at FHN receives compassionate, high-quality care from their first breath to discharge.

  This position utilizes a 24‑hour shift model (7 days on, 7 days off), offering predictable time off to recharge.
• Patient Care: Conduct daily rounds, perform physical assessments on newborns, manage "feeder & grower" plans, and assist with discharge planning.
• Level II Scope: Assist in the management of infants down to 32 weeks gestation. Our facility is equipped for positive pressure ventilation (RAM cannula) for short‑term stabilization.
• Delivery Attendance: Respond to high‑risk deliveries and Cesarean sections (≈85/year) to assist with neonatal resuscitation and stabilization.
• Quality Improvement: Participate in ILPQC newborn initiatives and best practices to ensure high standards of safety and care.

• Master’s Degree or Doctorate (DNP) in Nursing from an accredited institution.
• Current Board Certification: Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP)

  Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (PNP) or Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) with strong Level II nursery/NICU experience will be considered.
• Current Illinois Advanced Practice Nurse (APN) license or eligibility to obtain one.
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification required.
• Experience with neonatal stabilization and delivery room management.

• Compensation Range: $140,000 – $150,000. Salary based on experience and qualifications.
