• Location: Freeport, Illinois (61032) – Northwest Illinois healthcare jobs
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks (Start: January 12, 2026 – End: April 13, 2026)
• Healthcare Setting: Acute Care – Operating Room
• Shift: 10-hour day shifts
• Hours: 40 hours per week guaranteed
• Call Rotation: 1 weeknight per week and every 4-5th weekend (24-hour call on weekends)
• Orientation: 1-2 weeks with preceptor

• Active Illinois RN license (required for submission)
• Minimum 1 year recent Operating Room Registered Nurse experience (2-5 years preferred; strong candidates with less experience considered)
• Current certifications: BLS (AHA), ACLS, and PALS
• Experience in general surgery, orthopedics, ENT, urology, gynecology, C-sections, and podiatry preferred
• Familiarity with Meditech EMR is a plus
• Previous travel nursing experience and well-rounded OR skills highly valued
• Cataract surgery experience is a plus
• Disclosure of any prior employment at FHN Memorial locations required

• Deliver safe, high-quality perioperative nursing care to surgical patients in a dynamic OR environment
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and surgical techs for optimal patient outcomes
• Assist with a wide range of surgical procedures: general, orthopedic, ENT, urology, gynecology, OB C-sections, and podiatry
• Participate in call rotation, responding within a 20-minute timeframe
• Document patient care accurately using Meditech EMR
• Comply with hospital policies, infection control, and safety protocols
• Engage in department orientation and ongoing professional development
