ICU RN Job Details- Location: Freeport, Illinois 61032
- Healthcare Setting: Acute Care – Intensive Care Unit (ICU)
- Assignment Length: 13-week travel contract (Start: 1/12/2026 – End: 4/13/2026)
- Nursing Shift: 12-hour nights; includes weekend and holiday rotation
- Hours: 36 hours per week guaranteed
- Employment Type: Travel nursing job
- Orientation: 2 shifts (12 hours each) with dedicated clinical support
- Active Illinois RN license (required for submission)
- Minimum 2 years of recent ICU nursing experience preferred
- Required
Certifications:
BLS, ACLS, NIHSS - Experience with Code Blue response and phlebotomy skills a plus
- Travel nurse experience and Meditech charting highly preferred
- Proficiency in titrating critical drips (Levo, Neo, Propofol, Fentanyl, Precedex, Insulin, TNK)
- Provide high-quality, patient-centered care in an 8-bed ICU (1:2-3 nurse-to-patient ratio)
- Manage critical care diagnoses: sepsis, stroke, DKA, post-cath recovery, and more
- Lead Code Blue emergencies as Command RN
- Titrate and mix critical care medications
- Collaborate with hospitalists, clinical support staff, and fellow ICU nurses
- Float to Med Surg, Telemetry, or ER as needed and manage full patient loads
- Document patient care accurately using Meditech EHR
- Demonstrate professionalism and adaptability in a fast-paced healthcare environment
