Responsibilities- Preliminary assessments
- Concept creation
- Internal and external problem resolution
- Drawing and specification production
- Customer and vendor accessibility
- Being the EoR for designs
- Providing coverage for project leads
- Depending on bandwidth, may also lead projects
- Work on several concurrent projects and ensure on-time completion
- Provide technical design leadership for data center low voltage systems
- Mentor other telecom team members
- Lead BIM designers in engineering drawings preparation
- DIV 27 specification creation or modification
- Conduct site visits
- Review technical documents
- Manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Sign and seal telecommunications design packages
- Work with lead engineer or department manager to improve department efficiency
- Electrical Engineering or Communication Engineering bachelor’s degree from an ABET-accredited college
- Minimum 8 years’ experience actively designing or leading designs for telecommunications structured cabling systems
- Knowledge of ANSI/TIA and BICSI standards
- Knowledge of NFPA 70 and its application to telecommunications structured cabling systems
- Proficiency with Bluebeam
- Self‑motivation to coordinate with other disciplines, project managers, and clients
- Excellent project management skills
- Familiarity with responding to RFPs
- Experience in providing quality assurance and checking of telecommunications systems designed by others
- Experience with startup and commissioning of telecommunications systems
- Experience creating a budget for a project
- Experience creating and maintaining a project schedule
- Experience identifying and mitigating company risk
- PE license and ability to obtain multiple PE licenses
- 4 years telecommunications design experience in data centers
- Experience working on other low voltage systems (security, audio/visual, wireless)
- Working knowledge of Revit and Navisworks design software platforms
- Knowledge of telecom infrastructure for controls systems and security systems
- Knowledge of CSI or AIA specification writing procedures
- Credential as an RCDD
