Dow has exciting opportunities to join our team as a Technical Service & Development (TS&D) Scientist located in Lake Jackson, TX supporting our NORDEL EPDM franchise. This role applies advanced knowledge in rubber materials, formulation, and processing to develop new applications and provide technical expertise on the use and handling of Dow products. The position requires deep expertise in polymer science, rubber chemistry, vulcanization systems, and ingredient selection, with a strong understanding of structure–property relationships.

This role leads formulation design and process optimization for EPDM rubber applications, including weather seals, hoses, belts and roofing membranes. You will collaborate cross-functionally to scale up and validate compounds for diverse applications and communicate to influence internal and external audiences. You will also contribute to IP development and technology maps for projects.

• Develop and optimize EPDM formulations to meet performance and cost targets.
• Design cure systems and mixing cycles; troubleshoot processing issues.
• Conduct material characterization and testing per ASTM/ISO standards.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to scale up and validate compounds for diverse applications.
• Convey differentiated technical solutions and articulate value to Dow and customers.
• Apply project methodologies and participate in technology mapping and IP development.
• Coach others and present results to internal and external audiences; author papers and present at industry conferences.
• Manage the technical project pipeline for a business within a geography and identify high-value opportunities with stakeholders.
• Provide effective TS&D to strategic accounts and respond to technical questions from customers and Dow teams.
• Monitor market trends and incorporate competitive knowledge into group activities.

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Engineering, or related field, or relevant military experience (U.S. E5 or Canadian equivalents).
• Minimum 6 years of relevant experience with rubber formulation and processing; knowledge of Transportation/Infrastructure is preferred.
• Eligibility to work in the United States; no visa sponsorship is available for this position.

This position requires approximately 25-30% travel. Relocation assistance is not offered.
