Base pay range

This is an on‑site role at our Baton Rouge, LA site. The job is available to candidates anywhere in the United States, but we prefer those near a Jacobs U.S. office.
- Design wireless systems for data center buildings, including Commercial DAS, Public Safety DAS, LMR, Site Radio, RoIP, Wi‑Fi, and Tower Studies.
- Use iBwave and EDX to design and evaluate wireless systems.
- Coordinate with BIM designers to create drawing packages.
- Work with AHJs, radio system owners, and carriers to resolve technical issues.
- Create DIV 27 specifications and modify existing specifications as needed.
- Conduct site visits and review technical documents.
- Manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
- Technical or associate’s degree from an accredited institution.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience actively designing wireless telecommunications systems, including:
- LMR 2‑way radio (outdoor LMR, Site Radio, RoIP).
- Public Safety DAS systems.
- Commercial DAS systems (OTA DAS, Neutral Host DAS, DRAN DAS).
- 5 years’ experience with iBwave, EDX, Atoll, LMR Planner, or a combination of advanced modeling tools.
- Experience working with clients to identify wireless communication needs.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting field‑team communication issues.
- Strong knowledge of Noise Floor, SNIR, Return Loss, VSWR, NFPA 72/1221/1225, IFC section 510, Carrier KPI’s, IBC, FCC parts 20 & 90, FCC OET bulletin 65, MOTOTRBO systems, Motorola R56 installation standards, and DMR Tier III.
- Experience with Navisworks and project management, including budgeting, scheduling, and risk mitigation.
- iBwave Level 2 Certification required.
- Excellent communication and self‑motivation to coordinate across disciplines.
- Experience designing Wi‑Fi systems.
- EDX or Motorola design certifications.
- FCC GROL.
- NICET Design Certification.
- Multiple OEM product certifications.
- Electrical Engineering or Communication Engineering degree.
- EIT or PE license.
