We are currently looking for an R&D/TS&D Lab Technician to join our Mobility and Transportation Electronics (M&T) team in Seneffe, Belgium
. This temporary role, created to cover a long-term leave, offers you the opportunity to work on innovative projects shaping the future of mobility and electronics while contributing to Dow’s mission to enhance reliability, performance, and sustainability in transportation and industrial applications. You’ll be part of a team that leverages silicone-based materials to deliver advanced solutions for airbags, seals, battery safety, lighting, and more ensuring safety and environmental responsibility.

Your role bridges technical expertise and customer needs, supporting product development and application innovation aligned with Dow’s commercial strategy.

This role offers a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of innovation, sustainability, and customer-centric development. You’ll be part of a global leader in materials science, contributing to solutions that protect both people and the planet.

Responsibilities
  • Provides application testing support to TS&D specialists and scientists for different M&T and consumer and electronics (C&E) customers and innovation projects.
  • Mechanical, rheological and shelf-life testing and down packing of products into required packaging when needed.
  • Supporting lab scale dispense trials for customer / project requests.
  • Supports management of lab suppliers and good housekeeping including use of chemical inventory tools (like CISPRO) for products used in team.
  • Demonstrates capabilities and skills necessary to generate meaningful data to support projects within team.
  • Uses basic problem‑solving skills to suggest improvements to laboratory processes and operations.
  • Apply scientific methods and multidisciplinary approaches to solve technical problems.
  • Maintain clean desk policy in office and clean lab environment with good housekeeping mentality.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Polymer Science, Material Science, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated success in simultaneously managing multiple technical projects.
  • Fluent in French and English, ideally with another European language.
  • Ideally experience with mechanical testing in accordance with international standards.

  • Project Execution & Data Integrity – Completes assigned experiments and data collection safely, accurately, and on schedule; ensures proper documentation and traceability.
  • Deadline Management – Prioritizes tasks to meet project timelines and deliverables agreed with the project leader.
  • Clear Communication – Conveys technical information effectively in verbal and written formats; adapts style for audience and purpose.
  • Collaborative Problem‑Solving – Engages constructively in technology discussions within the project team; contributes ideas and listens actively.
  • Reporting & Documentation – Prepares concise summaries of work status, results, and observations; maintains records in compliance with Dow standards.
  • Confidentiality & Compliance – Handles sensitive information and system access responsibly; adheres to data security protocols.
  • Safety Leadership – Applies and promotes Dow safety procedures; proactively identifies hazards and contributes to a safe work environment.
  • Professional Conduct – Demonstrates strong work ethic, integrity, and alignment with Dow policies and performance standards; shows willingness to learn and adapt.
