This position is part-time and involves flexible hours, including 12 or 24-hour shifts, to meet staffing needs. The EMT will respond to medical emergencies, perform prevention activities, and participate in emergency management operations under the supervision of a Command or Company Officer.

Qualifications include: High School diploma or GED, Texas Department of State Health Services EMT certification or higher, and a valid Texas Driver License (or ability to obtain within 90 days).

Key responsibilities: Respond to emergencies, operate department vehicles and equipment safely, supervise and evaluate emergency services, enforce policies, attend training, and prepare reports.

Physical and mental demands: Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting and standing for extended periods, work under stressful conditions, and handle exposure to hazardous environments and patients.

All employees and volunteers must pass drug tests, physical exams, and background checks. This is an essential personnel role, and overtime may be required.
