Multicraft Welder​/Boilermaker

A Pipe Welder will weld, fabricate and assist pipe fitters in installation of varying types of industrial pipe (carbon) into the project’s piping systems. Must have NCCER Boilermaker as well.

• Ability to weld in 2g, 4g, and 6g conditions.
• Stick and TIG welding on pipe.
• Passes a weld test.
• 4+ years of industrial welding experience.
• All required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
• Meet all physical requirements.
• Has all the tools listed below on start date.

• Selects equipment and plans layouts, assembly, and welding applying knowledge of geometry, physical properties of metal machining, weld shrinkage, and welding techniques.
• Lay out, position, align, cut, assemble, and fit metal components together in various positions and places.
• Bolts, clamps, and tack-welds parts to secure in position for welding.
• Sets up equipment and welds parts using arc, gas-shielded arc, submerged arc, or gas arc welding equipment.
• Weld metal materials to piping systems equipment using the appropriate welding procedure for the various equipment and metal types involved.
• Identify all equipment for the job and process.
• Identify all safety risks and requirements.

• Adheres to large amounts of standing, walking, bending, squatting, sitting and lifting.
• Communicates using speaking and hearing.
• Uses arms and hands to signal, grab, hold, turn, push, and pull objects, materials, controls, and tools.
• May be required to pick up, lift, carry, and move up to 50 lbs.
• Works at heights, climbs ladders and stairways, may occasionally work off of platforms/scaffolding using the appropriate fall protection requirements.
• Works in all weather conditions while wearing appropriate PPE.
• Required to wear PPE: hard hat, safety glasses, ear plugs, masks/respirators, hi-vis safety vests, leather gloves, and steel-toed work boots.

• Must read blueprints and other engineering drawings efficiently.
• Must read and interpret technical manuals.
• Has 4+ years’ experience welding on industrial-size and grade pipe (40, 80, 160 schedules).
• Ability to weld in 2g, 4g, and 6g conditions.
• Stick and TIG welding on pipe.
• Thorough knowledge of various metal characteristics and welding processes.
• Successfully passes a weld test.
• Experience welding multiple types of pipe: carbon steel, stainless, chrome.
• Assists pipe fitters in pipe installation, preparation, and fabrication while not actively welding.
• Reliable transportation.
• Can work at heights as required.
• Has NCCER Boilermaker certification.

• Current Zachry or Zachry ROF’ed employee.
• Former experience working with Zachry Industrial, Inc.
• Previous experience in this position with Zachry Industrial, Inc.
• Current Zachry Certification.
• Experience working as an Industrial Pipe Fitter.
• Former experience working on a new construction project.
