- Enrollment in an approved educator preparation program for severe disabilities
- Demonstration of continuous progress in second (and subsequent) years
- Evaluation rating of "Needs Improvement" or higher in the preceding school year
- Work with the special education teacher to support assigned students with educational, therapeutic, and direct care services
- Gain an understanding of the Massachusetts curriculum framework
- Help the teacher maintain accurate student records
- Perform vital direct care support to assigned students, such as eating, toileting, personal hygiene, etc.
- Discuss students' progress with the teacher and provide input during evaluation periods
- Lead activities and perform direct care services on teacher planning days

- Commitment to maintaining an uplifting, inclusive, and supportive environment
- High school diploma or equivalent
Due to the nature of this position, potential employees will need to pass a background check, drug screening, and tuberculosis (TB) test.
